Top Health Apps
As you already know there are lots of health and fitness apps available today in almost all app stores including Google Play Store and Apple App Store aka iTunes. These apps are available for all mobile operating systems including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry. Amazingly companies like Apple, Google and Motorola have been invading this market with their own smart gadgets and apps.
In case you don’t own one of those smart but expensive gadgets then you can simply download these apps which work just fine with an iPhone or Android phone. Following is a list of some most famous health and fitness apps available today.
RunKeeper
RunKeeper is a well known app among iOS and Android users who love to maintain their fitness and health. RunKeeper helps users to keep track of their progress. RunKeeper uses built in GPS on your device and you can select route for running, it also keeps track of the total distance you cover. RunKeeper allows you to share your progress with your friends to keep them motivated and encourage about their health too. RunKeeper is available for free and this is a big advantage.
SparkPeople
SparkPeople is also a free app and it is available for iOS and Android devices from their relevant app stores. SparkPeople helps users to keep track of their daily food intake so they can exercise accordingly. SparkPeople also keeps track of your weight and calorie intake. It also has videos and tutorials about different exercises and workout.
Nike+ GPS
Nike+ GPS is an amazing app that does a lot but it has some disadvantages; first of all you need Nike+ shoes in order to use this app because it works on with the compatible gadgets. Secondly, Nike+ GPS is a premium app and it is available for $1.99 on Apple App Store. Though company hasn’t released Android version of their app but we are hoping that in upcoming weeks because Nike+ GPS is getting popularity. Nike+ GPS allows you to keep track of total distance you cover and how much calorie burned during that workout.
Lose It!
Lose It! Is available for iOS devices for free and you can get it from Apple App Store aka iTunes. Unlike other fitness apps, Lose It! Is not just about tracking your food intake but it has a huge database of low-calorie meals. You can search for your favorite low-calorie foods and even restaurants that provide those meals. You can create your food chart and enter all things you have eaten in a day, this way you can keep track of everything including your total calorie intake and weight.
