The Best Note-Taking App And Pen Now On Android

By on May 5, 2015

When it comes to note taking apps, all we can think of Evernote which is the one of the best note taking app available today. On the other hand, normally people can think of three different ways to take notes; the simple yet oldest one is to write everything with a pen and notebook. Although many people still use this only because they are not aware of the benefits of other two ways. The second and most widely used method for taking notes is to use your smartphone or tablet for this purpose.

Touch screen smartphones and tablets allow users to handwrite notes as well as dictate and type them on their favorite note taking apps like Evernote. The third and least use way is laptops or tablets with physical keyboards. Amazingly there is a forth lesser known way to take notes efficiently and most of the people are not aware of that probably because of the poor marketing strategies or efforts from the company. In 2013 a company produced a digital pen for iOS devices that worked as a normal pen.

That pen named Livescribe was able to write as a normal pen on normal paper and at the same time it was able to digitize everything via iOS app. unfortunately the first version of Livescribe failed to make some waves in the market because of the poor support and bugs but fortunately later versions improved significantly. Now the company has released their Android app for Android smartphones and tablets. Unfortunately this app is currently available in USA, Australia and New Zealand at this moment and rest of the world has to wait a little longer.

With the help of Livescribe, users don’t have to write something on the paper and then scan it to create a digital version of it but instead Livescribe pen does both of these things simultaneously. Users can write text or even can draw sketches and the Livescribe pen will automatically transfer the digital version of those writing to the iOS and Android devices. The latest version of Livescribe comes with extended support for Evernote and users can directly save their notes on Evernote without scanning the written notes or documents.

Although the company has taken a bold step by developing and releasing their Android app as well as upgrading their iOS app but the Android app is still missing some important and main features of Livescribe iOS app. hopefully, the company will release those features for the Android version too to make this whole concept even more powerful and productive.

It’s a pity that it’s only available in USA, Australia and New Zealand.. I wish I could install it and use it right away, it’s so useful and saves time! :) By the time it gets available in other countries, I will be graduated :))

Sweet! I can do two simultaneous things, write and scan . I really find this useful the way it is now, and I can only imagine what it would be like once new and improved features are released :)

I guess they should work harder on improvements and updates if they want to make it! I like their idea behind this app, but it’s not only about the idea, it has to be implemented the right way.

Livescribe is missing very important features, and I hope they will be released as soon as possible.

I can never understand why people rush into things. This app is just one of the things that could be really great and useful, yet they always release it before making sure that everything’s working properly. I am willing to give it a try as it looks very promising, but please fix the bugs first.

Is there any update on the new features? Anyone? I agree with you Joker^^, until you make sure everything functions well, don’t release poorly operated apps.

I can probably save all the files? Still, they definitely have to work more on this!

I’m not really sure about this note-taking app, there are so many things that need to be improved, why would they release it so early?

I tried using it, but I gave up since I don’t find it useful and I think it needs improvements!
