iOS 9 And Other Apple News

By on May 28, 2015

World Wide Developer’s Conference is going to start on June 8th, 2015 and rumors are Apple will announce iOS 9 there. All latest iOS devices will be able to run iOS 9 efficiently and rumors are Apple has been testing a basic version of iOS 9 that will support older devices as well. It is a bold step from Apple as all previous iOS version were capable of running on newer devices and this is the first time Apple has been doing something for older devices. That core version of iOS 9 will support A5 devices.

Although Apple works so hard on software as well as on hardware but all iOS versions run great on latest iOS devices and they cause low performance on older devices; we have been seeing this trend since iOS 7. In 2013, Apple released iOS 7 which came with huge design and features improvements. That was the first time Apple changed iOS design and layout so dramatically. That version iOS7 ran great on newer devices but users with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S were not happy because of the poor performance.

That version iOS 7 made their devices slow because the software itself was designed for latest devices. The same thing happened in 2014 when Apple released iOS 8. This particular version made users with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C unhappy because of the instability and poor performance. Additionally many users complained about the Settings app which was unstable on those devices and continuously crashing. Apple usually announces latest version of iOS for iPhone and iPad in WWDS and it utilizes the same event for announcing OSX too, although iOS usually releases after few months.

Another huge rumor about this event and Apple is the latest version of iOS 9 will support dual app view on iPad this is a most wanted feature by iOS users. Samsung has been offering the same feature in its tablets from quite some time and now iPad users will proudly use dual apps on their tablets. The latest version will also support multi login on iPad, so users can switch to different accounts as well a guest account when needed. Apple has been facing tough time in iPad department because iPad sales have been dropped significantly this year.

Apple has sold around 12.6 million iPad in first quarter of 2015 while the company sold 16.4 million iPad in first quarter of 2014. This is probably because of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus because both of these devices offer big screen that are a competitor of iPad itself. Hopefully the dual app support will cause a boost in sales and Apple will be able to hold a firm position in tablet market.

I can’t wait for iOS 9 to be released and see what features it offers. I know that there was a drop of iPad prices recently, therefore they need something that will increase their budget once again :)

I don’t doubt that Apple will lose its firm position in the tablet market. We all know how popular and functional they are. The numbers of users is increasing on a daily basis. Btw, looking forward to the release of iOS 9!
